As you can see, there are lotsa way to define the term 'friend' but to me the answer is clear. If he/she puts up with my shit, tells me if I'm being a jerk, doesn't sugar-coat his/her thoughts and says things as the way he/she sees it, always accepts individuality over conformity and maintains a certain level of subtance over style. These are what makes a friend...or at least as far as I'm concerned.
