*The Province of Durian*

I had a trip to Segamat, Johor last Saturday with Calvin and Guan Song (a kuku friend of ours, hehe). The reasons we were there, in order:

1) To meet Guan Song's god-daughter
2) To visit La Tuk Kung (a chinese god)
3) To eat durians

First of all, the place is so dead. They have Fajar, Billion and Centrepoint supermarket, which reminds me of places like Kampar, and other 'korok' places. The most hip and happening place is Pizza Hut. Imagine that. So we arrived at Segamat around 7.50pm, we had to go through winding roads to reach there, mind you. (Bila dah sampai pon i dah pening giler.)

Checked in into one of the best hotel in Segamat, woooo and i thought it was like a hotel of Parkroyal, but noooooooooo.... nada!! It was like a motel, and it was one of the best hotel in Segamat!! Wah, terus I menangis when i see the conditions of the room. The toilet is sooo eerie, the beds are hard and the room's air conditioning sucks. We three bunked in the same room at the end. Anyway, after checking in, we went for dinner with Song's god-daughter in... KFC. (weh, segamat tarak benda lain makan ker? Try lah local food ker apa... Duh!)

After dinner we went back to the so called hotel to have a quick shower. It was scary to have a long shower... hahaha. Anyway, after shower we went for a mamak session at the segamat train station (tempat punyerlah ntah paper). Had a chat for a while, Andrew, father of Song's god-daughter, told us Segamat is a haunted place. Terus my bulu roma naik. He told us a few eerie encounters then at around 2am, we moved on to go visit La Tuk Kung.

We bought Guinness Stouts, expensive cigars and other praying items earlier that afternoon to make an offering to Him. When we arrived there, the place was only lit by the road lamps. Behind His altar is a wide field, with lalangs and i-dont-know-what-is-hiding-behind. We started lighting candles and incenses, when suddenly we heard a dog howling a long howl nearby us. What's worst is the dog's howl was returned with another sound, which i dont even know what. My, my hair ends stood like a bunch of American soldiers in a march! I said a prayer in my heart just in case whatever the thing was suddenly made up its mind to come out and play boo.

We continued praying, made our offerings and sat down on the curbs and chat. We were chatting about something when suddenly the street lights went off. Damn, there goes my bunch of American soldiers . That's it.. I told them i think it was time we leave the place. We left at 3a.m and headed back to the hotel for a good night's rest.

We had the best durian for lunch the next day. My, the durian's texture was so creamy and yummy!! That's the only best thing that had happened in Segamat. I couldn't be any happier to reach KL later in the evening. Home sweet home...

Ahhhh....... Segamat....... what sweet memories =) Haunted meh?

I spent 2 days and 1 night there with my ex-gf (her hometown). She never told me about the haunted part... Maybe she didn't want to, else might scare me from visiting her... hahaha!

But 1 thing I remembered! The whole place is damn small! I practically walked the whole town from one end to the other with her LOLz
